Montezuma-Cortez High School Choir Director Marla Sitton and 10 of her chamber choir students will perform June 1 at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the New England Symphonic Ensemble.

Travel time is May 28 through June 2.

A GoFundMe set up by Christine McAllister hopes to help raise funds to help offset costs and fund some sightseeing.

“This trip is a great opportunity for students, but is also quite expensive,” McAllister said. “We’d like to help them out even further by reaching out to friends and family to see if they’d be willing to support our young people and the performing arts by contributing to the cost of their NYC endeavors.”

As of Friday, the GoFundMe raised $596 of its $1,600 goal.
