A Tale Of Two School Boards

A Tale of 2 School Board Meetings. The top photo is tonight’s Bayfield mask-optional meeting. It was well attended by 70+ parents and community members. Many were given the chance to speak and freely express their diverse opinions without consequence. The bottom photo is tonight’s Durango 9R meeting, closed to the public (tax-paying parents). At least 6 speakers were approved to speak for 3 minutes, but the 2nd person was cut off after 2 minutes because a bible verse she read offended one of the board members, then they cancelled the rest of the speakers. It’s time to open up 9R meetings and let the sunshine through—and the 1st Amendment.
