Choices

By Valerie Maez

Christy Fidura

Candidate for Colorado GOP Committee Woman

Republican National Convention

Every election brings you choices.

Why wait until a primary or the general election in November to choose?  Especially when by then, it sometimes is seen as a choice of lesser evils, instead of real differences.

If you are concerned by the current situation, and you absolutely should be, I want to introduce you to a woman who definitely chose to make a difference.

Her name is Christy Fidura and she is running to be the Colorado GOP Committee Woman going to the Republican National Convention. That event will be held this July in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The three day event runs from July 15-18th. Besides nominating a candidate for President of the United States, the event will decide what the Republican platform will consist of, by delegates eligible to vote at the convention.

The platform is a set of principles that Republicans agree to support. A vision statement if you will. The importance of what the platform supports cannot be overstated, as it is what Republican candidates should be reflective of.

Currently there are three announced candidates for the Committee Woman position. Vera Ortegon is a healthcare professional from Pueblo and has held this position since the 2020 election cycle. Laurel Imer is a businesswoman from Jefferson County. She promotes her ties to President Trump’s 2020 campaign and considers herself an American First candidate. Then there is Christy Fidura. She is also from Pueblo, has a proven track record of supporting and electing Patriots to office and has worked hard to shift Pueblo from Democrat Blue to Republican Red. Of the three announced candidates, Christy Fidura is the first to visit Cortez.

Republican Women of Montezuma will be hosting a Meet and Greet for Christy Fidura at their Conservative Grounds location at 11 North Broadway this coming Wednesday, February 7th beginning at 11A.M. Light food and refreshments will be provided.

By all means, take this opportunity to meet and visit with Christy Fidura .  You can express what you believe are the issues and principles that will represent Colorado at the National GOP Convention.
