Folded, Spindled, and Mutilated

There was a time in the 1960’s that the term, do not fold, spindle or mutilate, became popular in the lexicon. It was a reference to International Business Machines (IBM), a corporate powerhouse that dominated much like Microsoft does today, and was a reflection of their constant admonishment not to bend certain documents. It became a counter culture chant to say, “ don’t fold, spindle, or mutilate me.” that resonated with the back to nature movement.
I was thinking about that from the perspective of looking at the reality of today’s managed society. Americans have indeed became folded, spindled, and mutilated beyond anything IBM could have conceived of back in the day. Like so many movements whose founding visions have been corrupted, the original environmental movement goals became a tool for global corporate interests to reduce Americans rights and sovereignty. The merging of climate change politics with public health mandates and public/private partnerships that are endowed with staggering amounts of government money, as well as equally staggering non governmental environmental social venture funding, has created a tyrannical force that is on the verge of subjugating our American ideals and our very liberty. Some fear fascism is knocking on our doors, and openly wonder if we have what it takes to confront it; especially since it appears that so many of our politicians have been co-opted.
The very idea that Americans wouldn’t be willing to stand up against this existential threat is rooted in the thought that as a country, our lives and livelihood are so compromised by financial interests from the octopus arms of those entities. God have mercy on us if that has enough substance to prevent an American from standing up.
Not a day goes by that some new information bubbles up that confirms the dire situation of what we are facing. Apparently, the Attorney General of these United States, Merrick Garland, is of the opinion that parents speaking out at their local school boards are suspected domestic terrorists. President Trump’s greatest act as President may have been to keep Merrick Garland off the U.S. Supreme Court. Eventually, with all the publicity surrounding School Boards and their disdain for transparency, the reality that the public school system in its current form is an absolute failure will penetrate the consciousness of the average person. America spends more money on public education than any other country in the world and has far less to show for that generosity. I have heard school reform from the mouths of politicians running for office from both major political parties since the 1980’s. Lip service isn’t leadership. Time for change. Thanks to technology, parents now have an abundance of options outside of the standard local school that can be utilized.
The implications of a failing national education system is being seen everywhere. I literally watched as three young employees of a restaurant struggled to figure out the correct change from a hundred dollar bill for a $34.57 lunch check. It really is that bad.
Health care has been compromised by the highly politicized COVID pandemic. Robert Kennedy Junior has written an excellent, well documented, book on the outrageous actions of Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates. Make the effort to read it. Knowledge is power.
Connect the dots.
America needs leadership that exemplifies our foundational principles rather than protecting their self interests. Time is short and this is an election year. There are plenty of Republican candidates running for office. Do your due diligence and vet them thoroughly before you vote. You could be saving the Country.
