Resolution to support Texas Governor by the MCRCC
The Montezuma County Republican Central Committee passed this resolution at their monthly meeting on February 1. Thank you MCRCC!
Resolution by the Montezuma County Republican Central Committee
Whereas Texas is still a State in our United States of America and,
Whereas the Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws currently on the books and,
Whereas President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them and,
Whereas President Biden has ignored multiple letters from the Texas government demanding that he perform his constitutional duties and,
Whereas President Biden has violated his oath to faithfully execute immigration laws enacted by Congress. Instead of prosecuting immigrants for the federal crime of illegal entry, President Biden has sent his lawyers into federal courts to sue Texas for taking action to secure the border. And,
Whereas President Biden has instructed his agencies to ignore federal statutes that mandate the detention of illegal immigrants. The effect is to illegally allow their en masse parole into the United States. And,
Whereas the actions of President Biden's administration have demonstrated a failure to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States of America,
Be it resolved that this Republican Central Committee fully endorses the actions of Greg Abbott, the Governor of the State of Texas, who has claimed the triggering of Article I Section 10 paragraph 3 which reserves to that State the right of self-defense and has declared an invasion under that paragraph 3 to invoke Texas' constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. And,
That this Republican Central Committee prays for the blessings of God on the State of Texas in all their actions which are institutional, virtuous, and righteous endeavors to secure their defense and their protection
Adopted this 1st day of February 2024 by a unanimous vote of the Montezuma County
Republican Central Committee with a sunset date of February 1 , 2025.
