AUSTIN, Texas —
2/1 UPDATE:
The Take Our Border Back convoy arrived in Dripping Springs around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A long line of vehicles coming from the Houston area drove south on Hwy 290 to Veterans Memorial Park in Dripping Springs.
Organizers say a pep rally is planned for 5 p.m. on Thursday at One Shot Distillery & Brewery at 31610 Ranch Rd 12 in Dripping Springs.
The Take Our Border Back website says, "This is a peaceful first amendment gathering to express concerns about border security, its impact on local communities, and to hear from experts with first-hand experience."
The convoy will leave Dripping Springs on Friday on its way to Eagle Pass, Texas.

The Take Our Border Back convoy is making its way to the Austin area Wednesday night.
The procession of vehicles was originally scheduled to roll into Dripping Springs at 7 p.m., but the convoy had not arrived at Veterans Memorial Park a few hours after that. Delays in getting out of the Houston area were blamed by organizers.
Despite the 3-hour delay, a small crowd of people waited for the convoy until at least 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
“It’s about Americans getting together because there is something wrong and we want to make it right,” said Michael R.
Michael R. did not want CBS Austin to use his last name. He says he drove from Athens, Texas to show his support for a more secure border. Michael R. says he supports the efforts of organizers to ensure that all rallies on this nationwide trip are peaceful but thinks it might be hard to control people who turn out for the wrong reasons.
