When satan Has filled his Cup With Destruction
By Sherry Simmons
Where do we hide in these dark and evil days? So many times we just want to close our eyes and pretend none of this madness is going on.
Truth is - this evil we are seeing is real, as real as it has been since the dawn of man. What is different today is the amount of darkness which seems to be permeating every corridor of this earth. Each day something new, a more unthinkable evil comes into play.
Not everyone sees it, not everyone is shocked by it. Not everyone believes what is going on is evil or even takes the time to ponder about it. Why?
Much about this is unthinkable, we as a human race for the many, couldn't fathom that this depravity of evil exists. In order to believe that evil is real you must first believe that God Almighty is real. For many, in this fallen world God is but a myth, a ideology of some sort. Something of a fairy tale or comfort blanket.
This way of thinking has been part of satan's plan all along. To diminish the belief in God. To steal the focus away from the one true God. Over time Inch by inch satan has gained ground. In these days we are living in right now satan has sped up his plan and is steadily increasing his poisoning lies onto the people of this world. People blinded by satan do not see the wickedness in today's times. Everything about sin has been normalized. Just as the Bible tells us. "men will call good evil and evil good"
What do we do, how do we react in the dark days? The answers are in the Word of God. The answers to everything and every situation are in His word. There lies the problem, satan has also stolen time. He has people so focused on social media, their telephone, their computers, their TV.s, that anytime which could be and should be focused on God is consumed by these things. Truth be told the majority of people spend little or no real time with God. A quick prayer on the way to work, but at lunch time we pull out our phones and interact until lunch time is over. We get home do the chores, make dinner take care of the family and pets. Awe time to relax, what do we do? Do we pull out our Bible, do we go into our bedroom and pray? Or do we sit down in front of the TV, our computer or our telephones?
I am guilty of this, I know my time with God suffers because of my selfish incredibly meaningless times on these devices. It takes a willingness to push back the desires of the flesh, and yes these are desires of the flesh or idols if you will. When something becomes more important than time with our Creator it is a sin, a sin I'm sure hurts the heart of the one who loves us the most.
We are called to be lights in this world. To walk in the footsteps of Christ- to be the recruiters for Gods Kingdom. How can we possible fulfill this if we keep our heads buried in the meaningless things. How can we hear his voice if we only give him crumbs of our time. How can we make a difference in someone life who does not know God if the most important thing in our life is Not God Himself.
Times are indeed getting darker, the need for us to be in Gods Word and recruiting for our Lord Jesus is critical in today's world. As these days get darker we must also become stronger in our walk with God. There are terrible things coming, and yes they are coming, we best be preparing ourselves. We best be prepared to be walking with God and keeping our loved ones in our prayers. We best be familiar with his word, to have scripture in our hearts.
The Bible tells us to put on the full armor of God. There is only one piece in this armor that is for offense, The rest is defense. That one weapon is the Sword of the Spirit-the Word of God which is sharper than a two edge sword piercing bone and marrow. Would you go into a battle field with only body protecting armor or would you also have a weapon?
Spending time with God and in his scriptures will strengthen your armor. It will prepare you for each day you live and will prepare you for what is to come. Darker days are ahead, the darker they become we must become stronger and a brighter light for all those around us.
This day, today, we are one day closer to the return of Jesus Christ our King, are you one day stronger, one day more faithful and committed to your walk with God. When the darkness becomes too deep to breath when satan has filled his cup with destruction will you be strong, will you survive as a soldier for Christ?
We must be prepared and take advantage of each training day we get. I know for me, I want to march into the battle field, fully clothed in the Armor Of God being so close to Him there is no room for enemy fire. Time lost cannot be retrieved. Time lost with our Father our Creator can neither be regained. Lets start today, training and preparing. Lets begin with dedicated meaningful committed time with our God.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Revelations 1:3
Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
Ephesians 6:11-18
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
